our beloved Weimaraner "Billie" has spent long periods of time with Norma
at her kennels - we could not have been more happy with the level of care
and attention she received whilst in Norma's capable care.
fact we calculate she has spent 10% of her 14yr life living with Norma!
Billie stayed for a stint of 6 months then 6 years later she stayed for
a full 12 months whilst we lived overseas ..... we love our dog and
were very particular as to where we kennelled her - after all she is our
first child! Billie was not used to being left at a kennel having
had the luxury of accompanying us on family holidays, so she proved a bit
of a challenge for Norma - however, with perseverence and a lot of experience
Norma successfully calmed her and looked after Billie as if she were one
of the family. After both stays Billie returned to us in excellent
health both physically and emotionally! We received email updates
regarding Billie and truly felt that Norma had her best interests at heart.
In fact on our return from one long trip Billie could not decide which
she was more excited about - us or dinner time! Norma runs a thoroughly
professional business with an obvious love for animals and we could not
have been any happier with the service she provides

bit about us:
"My name is
Norma and my partners name is Noel. We have 3 children and previously
we lived at Oxford for 20 years - this is where we built our first kennels.
Two years ago
we moved to our new property at Clarkville - working 7 days a week and
having young children, we felt that we never saw our parents often so this
was the reason for our move down here. And it fantastic.
But I'll never
forget the day Noel showed me this property, and he said "just view it
as a blank canvas." We brought a run down dump of a bare block "with
3 years we have built our unit, (that we lived in before our house), my
dogs area, the boarding kennels, a 3 bay implement shed, a new house, new
access way, re-grassed and fenced it all, oh yeah, and planted over 3 thousand
natives - phewww!
I have for
as long as I can remember loved all animals, but dogs I'm passionate about.
At present we have 3 of our own - they are mastiffs. This breed I
have had now for 24 years; Over that time I have bred, shown and
have been very active in the New Zealand club for the breed. I have
only bred 9 litters and mid-april 09, we have our first litter in 5 years
so I'm really excited about that.
I don't really
have many other interests - the kennels, our children and our own dogs
seem to fill my days, but I do also love people. I really love meeting
new people and spending time with my friends whereever possible, I suppose
I class myself as a social person and I never stress. Stress is something
that never really enters my life much and it wastes to much time anyway!
At christmas time I had to stop in to a vets to collect something and a
vet said "Wow Norma, a kennel owner who it is not stressed!" (Christmas,
long weekends etc can be a very stressful time for kennel owners.)
I said, "I don't stress, why bother? It only upsets the dogs.
If you keep everything calm and smooth-running, we all have a great time."
And this is how we manage our facilities daily."
